records, sufficient instances of the same person being listed by all spelling
variants exist to warrant checking all variants.
0.0.1. ? Glasgow
At this point, we break into four separate families. The
relationships that/if exist are yet to be determined.
0.0.1.1. James Glasgow (25‑Aug‑1818/ ) (1.1)
James is identified as the father of Mary on
her death certificate. Her birthplace is listed as Center Co. Pa. James and his
family resided in Potter Twp. attending the Reformed Church at Tuseyville,
Potter Twp., Pa. It is further believed that he is buried in Hunterton Co. Pa.
which is perhaps his birthplace.
Proof of this family is documented in the deed
selling his property after his passing, intestate. see 5.4.1.
Note that this deed conflicts with the death certificate for David Glasgow (sr)
?
0.0.1.1.1. Mary Magdalena Glasgow
Snyder (1.1.1)
Mary and her family are remembered by the
family of Eve Taylor Bloom. For years, they attended the Glasgow Family reunion
at Belfonte, Pa. County Fair Grounds, the first Sunday following the 4th of
July. Mary is believed to have been a Nurse during the Civil War. She was a mid‑wife
in Clearfield Co. and is credited with having delivered "half the
county."
0.0.1.1.2. David Glasgo, Sr. (14‑Jul‑1845?48?/
9‑Apr‑1905) (1.1.2)
David and his family are well documented in
the church records of the Tusseyville Emanuals Church. This is the family of
Mrs. William Glasgo's husband of Center Hall. William and his brother Robert
are children of David (sr) and Letty B. Kline.
This family and the family of Mary Glasgo
Snyder are tied together through the "Glasgo Family Reunions" and
associations. Robert Levi is remembered as having freequently visiting Sarah
Jane Snyder (Taylor/McGarry).
0.0.2. James
Glasgow, w/Jane McClintic (1.2)
father of Silas Glasgow‑2.5 This family
is documented on p. 695 of Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata and Perry
Counties.Other information is obtained from the 1850 census. The William
Glasgo, 1850 Census Beccaria Twp., Clearfield Co., may be son of this James.
0.0.3. ? Glasgow, father of John,
Taylor, etc. (1.3) This family is documented on p. 623 of
Huntingdon, Mifflin, Juniata and Perry Counties. Other information is obtained
from the 1850 census.
0.0.4. James emigrated 1781 and son
William (born on the Ocean). This group is documented in Beers, Commorative

Abraham, son of Mordecai, married Anne Boon,
daughter of James Boone. Their daughter Anne married William Glasgo.
8.6.1. Snyder family tradition is
that Daniel Boone's sister was a Snyder. There also was a feeling that Daniel
had neglected his family for his exploring.
8.6.2. No family ties have been
found to the Snyders from the Boone family. Boone family genealogy is well
documented.
8.6.3. Mary M. Glasgow married
Isral Snyder. If the tradition is true, it may be that it came from this branch
of the Glasgows to the Snyders.
8.6.4. History records that James
Boone, Anne's father, had feelings of family neglect for Daniel Boone.
Fruit for further exploring.
