Note*   Heinrich The children of Heinrich Gebhart were born in the Rhine Valley, Heinrich was the son of Heinrich of Basel, Switzerland. They were decedents of 'defenders of St. Stephen Monastery property' for several generations. Decedents of Lord Henricus de Erlach (ca.1076-1147) seated in the great bend of the Main River, about 10 miles southeast of Wurzburg, where Erlach village today surrounds the old moated castle. Erlich is from 'Erle-ach,' meaning alder-place at a waters edge. The line continues back to the year 885, descended from a Danish Viking sea-King whose decedents settled in southern Limburg, Netherlands. Another 'notable' is that Henricus de Randersacker (ca.1054- 1099), brother to a direct ancestor, commanded a detachment of knights under Godfrey de Bouillon on the First Crusade. The father was killed at the capture of Jerusalem on July 15, 1099. Henricus returned early in 1033 and took over the Erlich Barony. This information was extracted from 'The Compendium of American Genealogy, pages 257-260. Researcher was a descendent of Henry Kephart, brother to this Nicolaus Kephart.
