Member of firm of Walton, Linch & Co., General Merchandise. Built boat "Samuel Miller" and was Captain for number of years, towing coal between Pittsburgh & Louisville. Also interested in coal mining at Webster, Pa. Captain Linch now Vice-president Thomas Moore distilling co. of McKeesport.Married Melissa Allen in 1861. Has four children: Jessie, Grace Dale, Ewin Stanton and Madison B.

David, Johns father, a farmer born in Elizabeth Twp. married Catherine Tillbrook. They had six children, Ann; May; Rebecca, m. James Biddle; Martha, m. James Carroll; Eliza, m. William Biddle; and John.
In 1852 John married Annie Leatherman, where they now reside on a farm in Versailes Twp. They have three children: Catherine, m. Charles Jones; David, m. Lizzie E. Ludwick; and Abram. David & Lizzie have one child, Anna Lula.

3. Henry Kuntz (Kuhns) from Holland to Berks Co., Pa.then to Westmoreland Co.,Pa., was potter then farmer, belonged to Lutheran Church, fought in Rev. Children were Peter, Henry, Daniel Christina (Henry Carns). This was written on back of an old paper.
4. Peter Kuntz (Kuhns) born Aug.22, 1785, died Port Perry Nov.11, 1866(?). Children were Susan, July 5, 1810; Mary, Oct.12,1812; Catherine, Dec. 27, 1814, died Amity, Oct. 12,1859; William, May 29, 1819; John, Jan. 24, 1822; Margaret Anna, June 24, 1824, died Nov. 15, 1878 at Smithton, buried in Barnett lot; Eliza Jane born ____ died Oct. 3, 1908 at her daughters, Mary McDougle, Hazelwood, Eliz. St.Elizabeth, Nov 21, 1826.
