Note*   Peter Seal(S) All but the last two children were born in N.J. Elizabeth related that Peter wanted to do two things, fight in the Civil War and go West. She told him that if he wouldn't join the Army, she would go west with him. 'He hadn't been there six months when he went and enlisted.' Peter enlisted in the 17th Cavalry, Ill. Vol. on September 6, 1864. He was discharged on May 23, 1865 and died three years later. In 1854, brother John took his family to Westfield Corners, Peter Seal took his family to Ogle Co., Ill. early in 1864. James W. Mitchell knew Peter and Elizabeth in N.J. and moved to Rockford, Robert Seal(s) son of Joseph Seals and Mary Ann Mitchell moved to Ill. in 1872. This Joseph Seals was Peter Seals father's brother. Eliza B. Seal sister or half-sister of Peter Seal, married Levi M. Case. A family named Case was close to the Seal and Morts in Ogle Co., Ill.
